More than just Candy!

Every spring, the anticipation builds for one of our favorite community traditions: the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Bright plastic eggs scattered across green lawns, children laughing and racing toward sweet treasures—it’s a joyful sight that signals the season of renewal and connection.

But what many don’t see is the heartwarming effort that happens behind the scenes—and behind the eggs.

Each year, the team at Sunrise Assisted Living turns what could be a simple task into something truly meaningful. Residents come together to fill thousands of eggs by hand, stuffing each one not only with candy but with care, laughter, and a sense of purpose. It’s a small act that carries a big impact.

This egg-filling day has become a cherished tradition at Sunrise. For the residents, it's an opportunity to stay active, contribute to a beloved event, and feel deeply connected to the younger generation. For many, it brings back fond memories of doing the same for their own children and grandchildren. And for the children who collect the eggs on Easter weekend, it's a beautiful (and sweet!) reminder that love and community come in all ages.

This collaboration turns the hunt into so much more than just a fun outing—it becomes a celebration of community at its finest. It’s multi-generational magic in motion, where the wisdom and warmth of our older neighbors meet the wonder and energy of youth.

So next time you spot a brightly colored egg tucked beneath a tree or nestled in a patch of spring grass, know that it’s not just a treat inside—it’s a reminder of how much brighter our world is when we create together, across generations.

Happy Easter—and thank you to the incredible residents at Sunrise for filling our community with joy, one egg at a time.
